NEFF-PERKINS RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT LABORATORY
Neff-Perkins R & D Laboratory is a full function facility. Some of these functions include but are not limited to providing our customers with technical support in the selection, research, development and testing of materials. We also take active roles in providing technical support in the final manufacture of polymer parts. Our expertise therefore covers a polymer product from inception to completion.
The R & D lab can design and develop polymer compounds to meet customer-specified guidelines.
The R & D lab receives on a regular basis, updated test methods from ASTM, specifications from General Motors, Chrysler, Ford and the Society of Automotive Engineers. Personnel from the R & D lab participate and are active members of the General Motors seals and gaskets subcommittee.
Neff-Perkins R & D Laboratory maintains A2LA accreditation for technical competence in mechanical testing. We are also accredited to ASTM testing, mainly in mechanical, chemical and aging tests.
We use modern and state of the art equipment for testing. All equipment is regularly calibrated by accredited calibration agencies. The equipment includes:
Monsanto Rheometer ODR 2000 and Mooney MV 2000
Alpha Technologies Tensometer 2000 with Environmental chamber for low and high temperature tests,
Environmental Aging chambers (circulating and static air) for heat and fluid aging,
Shore A durometers (automatic and hand held with convoluter stand)
Low temperature test equipment
Ozone testing chambers etc. |
The R & D lab is also equipped with two 6” X 6” X 12” laboratory mills, each dedicated to inorganic (silicones) and organic (SBR, NR, EPDM etc) polymers. For more information, contact our Customer Service Department at: (440) 275-1009.
